When he was young, he waited for a ship to attend a Buddhist celebration. After three hours of waiting, he was afraid that he would miss the event and began to chant Amitabha’s name. A ship suddenly appeared and he managed to reach the venue on time. After he departed from the ship, it turned into a bright light. After the white light dimmed, a rainbow appeared. This incident increased his faith in Amitabha Buddha. He became a devotee of Amitabha Buddha throughout his life.
When he was 28 years old, a fortune teller told him that he would only live up to 39. At 39, he slipped on some soap and fell from the staircase but he survived because of his devotion to Amitabha Buddha. However, he broke his hand and had to undergo surgery. A small price to pay considering that he lived up to 76 years of age.
Venerable Master Chin Kung had hundreds of disciples and he wrote many books on the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha. He built about 200 temples throughout the world. His master was Mr Lee Bin Lan.
